Hi, I’m Remy Hunter. I’m a London headshot photographer specialising in natural actor headshots, and I’ve been photographing actors since 2001. Natural light is my specialism, which means every session is slightly different. Rather than using a factory-processed approach, I adapt to the light, location and conditions on the day to create headshots that feel individual to you.
As an actor, you’re used to being directed, and I take the same approach during your headshot session. I’ll guide you throughout the shoot, helping you explore different expressions, emotions and characters rather than leaving you wondering what to do in front of the camera. It’s a collaborative process designed to keep the session relaxed and enjoyable while creating as much variety in your headshots as possible.
About Me
I come from an artistic background and my journey as a photographer started in 1993. I went on a exchange trip with school to Prague. I spent a week and took with me a cheap throw-away camera. The images weren’t great but I fell in love with the city. I went back a year or two later and took a professional camera spending an entire week taking nothing but photos in black and white. A couple of years later I had to decide what to do with my life and eventually ended up at at the Norwich School of Art and Design and studied fine art. Upon graduating in 2001 I soon photographed my first actor, a friend of a friend. We spent an hour shooting on Primrose Hill with a couple of rolls of film. From that moment on I was hooked.
n the early noughties I briefly assisted a handful of photographers, and the biggest lesson I learnt was the importance of collaborating with the person in front of the camera. That remains at the centre of how I work today. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach: I’ll listen to what you’re looking for and we’ll work together to create natural, characterful headshots that feel like you and help get you seen.
